Division of work: Work out the energy development strategy, policies and medium-and-long-term plan; organize and guide the compilation of the special plans of power, new energy and renewable energy sources; report, examine and approve energy (thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power and wind power generation) and power grid construction projects; responsible for heat and power planning and the examination and approval of CHP (combined heat and power) project; monitor and analyze the development status, operation status and market supply and demand situation of energy industry; organize and guide the energy conservation, comprehensive utilization and environmental protection of energy industry; fulfill the policy on energy cooperation and management functions; make a research on the important issue about the harmonious development between mankind and nature; organize the compilation of plan on territorial management and ecological environment; responsible for comprehensive management of circular economy; responsible for compiling the annual investment plan for the key ecological construction projects and ecological environment protection plan; responsible for the comprehensive management and balancing of energy source, water and land resource; compile the construction land use plan with the relevant departments; participate in the environmental impact assessment and water and soil conservation scheme of the construction projects
